Joe joined the APRx Board in July 2011. He is a University of Texas pharmacy graduate and has been an independent pharmacist for 30+ years. He owns two pharmacies in Edinburg and a DME store, and employs more than 40 people. He served nine years on the Edinburg ISD School Board, 13 years as the city’s mayor, and on many local and state boards. As a member of both APRx and the Rio Grande Valley Independent Pharmacists Association, he was instrumental in planning the "Friends of Texas Pharmacy" event that drew 300+ people and five legislators in McAllen in 2012.
