DFPS ID numbers
for foster children prescription reimbursement
Texas foster children now are automatically enrolled in
Medicaid. Department of Family and Protective Services (DFPS)
case workers and care givers should have these numbers to help
pharmacies acquire reimbursements.
This new system is called Star Health and became
effective April 1. If you have questions, contact
DFPS Vendor Drug Pharmacy Resolution Desk at
800-435-8165. Because this is a new program, the desk will be
staffed this weekend.
