APRx shareholder and TPBC Board Member Steve Hoffart has accepted an appointment to the American Pharmacies Board of Directors to assume the unexpired term of Director Robert Kinsey of Tyler, who recently resigned from the Board after retiring from independent pharmacy.

Hoffart, owner of Magnolia Pharmacy northwest of Houston, currently sits on the TPBC Board. He received TPBC’s Advocacy Leadership Award at the June 2017 Shareholder Retreat and is actively involved in legislative affairs. Hoffart will have to seek re-election for the term he assumes, which expires on June 30, 2018.

“Since the first day I joined AP, I have been truly impressed with the dedication and vigor the staff and board deliver everyday to protect and promote independent pharmacy,” he said. “I look forward to help and assist any way I can to ensure our group continues to grow and flourish.”

Kinsey joined the APRx Board in 2006 and was chairman from 2013 to 2015 He is part owner of Kinsey’s Pharmacy in Tyler, which he opened in 1979 and managed for 37 years.

“Serving as a Board Member has been one of the most rewarding experiences of my 50 years as a pharmacist,” Kinsey said. “American Pharmacies has a very bright future with a very capable Board of Directors to lead this great organization forward. Thank you again for allowing me to serve. I will miss you guys.”
